JOHN SPROVIERI LAUNCHES ELECTION CAMPAIGN TO BECOME THE NEXT MAYOR OF BRAMPTON
BRAMPTON, ON – On August 31, John Sprovieri officially launched his election campaign to become the next mayor of Brampton. The kick-off was held at the Gore Meadows Community Centre and Library and attended by over 150 volunteers.
“After serving the City of Brampton for over 30 years, I had been planning to retire from politics,” said Mr. Sprovieri. “But after seeing the lack of leadership from the past mayors and the lack of action by Council to get things done, I knew I had to step up and run for Mayor.”
Everyone at the campaign kick-off showed their excitement and support to volunteer and donate towards Mr. Sprovieri’s election for mayor. The attendees reflected the diversity of Brampton, with community members from different cultures and faiths, speaking highly of his achievements while on Council.
“John Sprovieri is always working hard to support the community on our issues and residents have seen him work long hours, tirelessly to help and find solutions,” said Jotvinder Sodhi, community advocate and co-campaign manager.
“John’s accomplishments over the past 30 years as a Regional Councillor, his long-standing community service, easy accessibility to residents, honesty and leadership is why he’s been re-elected again and again,” said Yvon Squires. “People are pledging their support and getting involved because they want to see change at City Hall and an end to the dysfunction they see on Council.”
The Municipal Election will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 and Brampton voters will elect their Mayor, City Councillor, Regional Councillor and School Board Trustee. More details on the John Sprovieri election campaign for Mayor will be available soon.
