John strongly opposes the proposed Low Level Radioactive Waste Incinerator and was instrumental in lending his voice to the implementation of the City of Brampton Interim Control By Law.

He was also an outspoken councillor in supporting the 20-year Peel garbage deal with Waste Management.

Most recently, as Regional Councillor, John has played an integral part in the approval of the TRCA Centre in Claireville which will offer Childrens’ programs and build awareness of nature conservationism.

Your Safety

However, growth is not the only concern within a community. Safety tops the list as well.  John’s concern for safety within his community is paramount. The installation of traffic signals and stop signs is an ongoing concern with John to ensure the safety of the residents of Brampton. He was instrumental in getting traffic signals installed at Sandalwood and Chapparal to ensure the safety of the Sunny View Public School students and local residents. What normally takes a year to implement was accomplished in two short months thanks to John’s commitment to his constituents and his community.

Cultural Diversity

Multiculturalism in Brampton is growing rapidly and while new immigrants enter the city, programs must be in place to support and meet their needs. John has also been an advocate for the creation of cricket and kabbadi facilities in the City of Brampton.
